Shabestan news agency- Mehrullah Rakhshani Mehr, Deputy Minister of education said: There is no clay or mud classes in iran’s schools . Brick and mud buildings are generally weak in terms of structure and they are very likely to collapse in medium and large earthquakes.
According to statistics, at the beginning of 2017, there were more than a thousand classrooms with clay and mud materials in the country, and the largest number was located in the provinces of Sistan & Baluchestan, Gilan, Kerman and Yazd.
Rakhshani Mehr stated: Only Sistan and Baluchestan province due to special conditions and severe deprivation, 174 brick and mud classrooms remained. In order to organize these areas, three provinces of Tehran, Khorasan Razavi and Fars were designated as certain provinces in the replacement of clay and mud classes.
The head of the School Equipping and Development Organization stated: all clay and mud schools in Sistan and Baluchestan province were collected until February 2017.
He added: Standard classrooms were replaced in these areas, which in some areas were difficult to build due to the impossibility of construction work.
